M Social Suzhou is the brand’s first property in China. The luxuriously designed hotel offers 294 guestrooms and suites with panoramic views of Jinji Lake and the Eastern Gate of Suzhou. Located in the Hong Leong City Center, the hotel is part of Suzhou Industrial Park and is close to many attractions. M Social is the brainchild of MHR’s executive chairman Kwek Leng Beng, with its aim to cater to a “young, brave, and social-media savvy” crowd.
M Social has announced the opening of its first property in China, M Social Suzhou, located in Hong Leong City Center (HLCC). The 294-room luxury hotel, part of Suzhou Industrial Park, is near to many attractions, including Times Square, Jiu Guang Department Store, Eslite Spectrum, Ferris Wheel Park, Suzhou International Expo and Suzhou Culture and Arts Centre.
The concept behind M Social, a lifestyle brand of global hotel group Millennium Hotels and Resorts (MHR), is to cater to a “young, brave, and social-media savvy” crowd, according to Kwek Leng Beng, Executive Chairman of MHR, who is the brainchild behind the brand. Suzhou was chosen as the location for the hotel due to its identity as the ‘Venice of the East’ with its quaint water canals and bridges around the city.
M Social Suzhou’s interiors are designed by architect KCA International, to create an “inclusive and relaxed environment” for guests. The decor conveys an aura of “industrial chic” in its lower-level and sky lobbies. Located on the 25th floor, the sky lobby features an open layout including cloud-pattern panels, a concrete-framed chandelier, and exposed metal grills, giving guests a spectacular view of the bustling city of Suzhou.
CapitaLand’s J’den Condo will bring about 375,000 sqm of GFA, including residential J’Den Condo units, office spaces, commercial areas, and amenities in the 22-hectare Jurong Lake District.
The luxurious guestrooms and suites range from approximately 431 sq ft to 4,402 sq ft, and have panoramic views of Jinji Lake and the Eastern Gate of Suzhou. Furthermore, the hotel’s 4,402 sq ft “Mega Cool Suite” provides a 270-degree view of Jinji Lake.
M Social Suzhou also provides an array of other amenities and services, including a 7,836 sq ft ballroom, a 12,917 sq ft fitness centre, a swimming pool, a spa and three restaurants and bars.
With the opening of M Social Suzhou, the M Social brand now has five global locations, including Singapore, Auckland, New York and Paris. MHR has also established M Social Decentraland, a virtual office, making it the first hospitality group to enter the metaverse.
The opening of M Social Suzhou not only marks a milestone for the brand, but also signals a move for future expansion into the Greater China region. MHR plans to grow M Social in more locations, including London, New York, Sunnyvale, Phuket and key cities in the Middle East.
