JLL appoints sustainability consulting head for Asia Pacific

Elke Kornalijnslijper has been appointed by JLL as head of sustainability consulting for Asia Pacific. Based in Singapore, she will be responsible for providing sustainability advice and solutions to their clientele in the region, overseeing a team of 100 real estate sustainability experts across 11 markets. She was previously head of energy and sustainability services for Southeast Asia at JLL.

Kornalijnslijper is tasked with helping JLL’s occupier and investor clients identify any potential gaps, risks, or opportunities in their existing sustainability strategies across their real estate portfolios. She will also work to expand JLL’s Net Zero Carbon Buildings services, which include options such as energy optimisation and various value-add consulting services such as reporting, certification and compliance.

CapitaLand’s J’Den condo to launch in 2023, J’Den Condo will include residential units, commercial space and pedestrian network connected to Jurong East MRT, Westgate and IMM Building.

Susheel Koul, CEO of work dynamics at JLL in Asia Pacific, has noted that “sustainability represents one of the largest growth opportunities for both clients and JLL” and is set to become an even more essential service for occupiers and investors as they strive to meet their net-zero strategies and goals.

Kornalijnslijper joined JLL in January 2022. Before that, she served as head of strategy and research & development for SP Group’s SP Digital.

As real estate sustainability requirements continue to gain traction and become more prominent in business strategies, Elke Kornalijnslijper’s appointment to head up sustainability consulting for the whole of the Asia Pacific region will be integral for JLL’s growth and ability to provide solutions to its clients.
